Recently, I met with a potential client and her fiance regarding honeymoon destinations. One of the first things they mentioned is neither of them has ever traveled. They were overwhelmed by the amount of information out there and all the choices as possible honeymoon destinations. Here is where we enter into the difference between using a travel agent/planner and not.
The internet is so overwhelming these days. Remember when you were doing research years ago and only a few items popped up in your search as possible solutions to your search? Now with added search engines and social media it can certainly be overwhelming. While the internet is a great place to gather info and read reviews, personal connection and experiences take the cake every time.
Had I not personally traveled, taken all my training this couple would not have been comfortable with their honeymoon choice. I was able to guide them and narrow their options down to a small handful based on what they were telling me.
Working with a travel agent/planner who has personal experience as well as completing training can make a big difference. Some things you cannot just learn via training. You need to experience it first hand to be able to help your clients. Some people see all cruises as the same thing. There are so many differences between itineraries, cruise lines and staterooms. By personally experiencing different cruise lines and itineraries, I can give answers to the questions many first time travelers have. The little things they don't teach you in your training.
Glad the traveling I have done and continue to explore over the years can be put to good use and help someone during what can be the most stressful time of their life.
If you or someone you know would like to make traveling less stressful and time consuming, please consider contacting one of our Wishes & Dreams agents to help you in your planning. We are here to work FOR YOU.
